A nigerian 419 scammer is sending me a FAKE cashiers check. Please read:

"Dear Steve Doe,

I went to verify from the head office of the courier service company today,

I was today that your package has been dispatched,so the director gave me the tracking number and the contact of whom to contact is has arrived spain now so get incontact with him now to enable him remenber he has your package ok,either by mail or via phone commincation to enable him tell you how to track your package,

The tracking number is this,DCC23324424TY
His email and phone numbers,DR. JOHN BROWN 00-34-618-233-9xx

Update me as you contact him,

Yours In Service,

Miss Monica"

Of course Miss Monica is going to want me to send money back through Western Union and she knows the check will bounce in a few weeks. I've got a different idea. I'm going to tell her I put the money on a football game and won....and I am going to keep everything and not send back one penny. This scammer will get REALLY pissed. I cannot wait for all the threats and it costs these scammers a lot of DHL money.:dancefool

I love that site...some of the funniest stuff out there! One guy got a scammer to pose with a loaf of bread on his head for "proof", I nearly fell off my chair from laughing so hard.

I like those phone calls myself. The long road to nowhere is some of the funniest shit I've ever listened to and read.

I have been laughing my ass off reading that journey!!! But jeeez!!!! i wish you guys understood the complexity of making a trip from lagos to chad!!! If not by plane, that is one long arse arduous very very potentially deadly trip..

I have been to South Africa and Zimbabwe and you couldnt pay me enough money to even make a 300km trip!!! Almost at any point in Africa in a 300km radius you have a better than 25% chance of being killed by something, bandits, warlords, rebels, highway robbers, tse tse flies, malaria, car wrecks.
They dont have roads unless there are two big cities between so you make one wrong turn you could end up in a whole other country which you wont figure out for a while because the languages are a whole other mess..

I just fills me with shivers thinking about that desperate desperado wandering about in the Sahara of all places..:lolBIG:

Dear father O.O'H,

Blessings to you and your entire family including your congregation. I am sure God is doing an awsome thing in the life of these people and it is a thing all christian family will partake to inherit his kingdom.

You can use the account for the $4000 as i have discussed it with our agent thisd morning and he accepts receiving it since it is for God's Work, and as you make the payment please send me the slip ok.

Untill then stay blessed

:lolBIG: :lolBIG: :lolBIG: Dear Reverend West,

I am afraid that I will need a fully itemised list of travel expenses incurred by Mr Egbuna, we can't just send you any old amount of money for expenses, it has to be itemised so that we can claim tax back on it here.

Has Mr Egbuna beem in touch with you? Has he arrived back in Lagos yet so that ha can tell you what the actual travel expenses were?

Blessings, Father O'Hanlon.

:lolBIG: :lolBIG: Hey rev, how you doing dude.

Tell you what man, I have had a mad 24 hours, I won loads of money playing poker again yesterday, then I lost about $10,000 in the casino and then won another $8000 :), then when I went home I picked up a computer virus, that really fucked me off big time I can tell you, so I have been trying to get my computer fixed since yesterday, had to call the computer repair man out, but now I am back up and running :)

Rev, there is no need to thank me man, I like giving money to charity and I only give anonymously, so I never give out my personal details on the internet to charities like yours, but you have thanked me enough by email anyway, and you are very welcome to my donation for the orphanage, I like helping them poor kids in the orphanage, look at it this way, it's not really my money direct from my wallet, it's what I won from the casino, so it's the casino you should be thanking LOL :)

I checked my MoneyGram account and it says the money has not been received by you, are you collecting it today because I don't like to have money sitting in money transfer accounts for too long, I would rather use it to gamble with instead of it sitting there doing nothing, mail me when you collect it man. Reg.

There's a website devoted to scamming the scammers back. But...do be warned and make sure you take critical steps in making yourself completely anonymous. There have been cases where these guys somehow, someway daisy chained there way back to the scammer scamming the scammer - and well. . . yea...

None the less - check the website out all about the tactical way in doing them over correctly all while remaining illusive to trace. I cant' remember the name - do some google'ing.

Bump, of an old classic.

Check out the link to the Road to Nowhere, Post 5. This thread brings tears of nostalgia to my eyes from 2 years ago...
